A guy on a finnish forum is selling these:
Papst TYP 4114 N / 12 MR 120x120x38mm
12 - 30VDC 24V DC 145 mA 3,5W
Metal frame, three-pin connector.
Has anyone ever seen or used one? Noisy?
Has anyone used this fan: Papst 120x38 4114 N / 12 MR
Moderators: NeilBlanchard, Ralf Hutter, sthayashi, Lawrence Lee
Cant find anything about them on Papst site but google came up with this:
http://episteme.arstechnica.com/groupee ... 5002386731
"Papst, type 4114N. 12-30Vdc, 162CFM, 60dB, ball bearing, 6000RPM. 3 wire with a 3 pin connector. At 12V, it is very quiet and draws about 60mA"
Dunno if that is "SPCR quiet", but I think I'll get two of them because they are pretty cheap.

I used to have that fan, maybe about 4 years ago. I used it as the main exhaust in a low-power Duron system. I had it running at 12V, and it was plenty quiet for my needs. I wasn't seriously into quieting computers back then, but I liked the smoothness and sturdiness of that fan. I don't have it anymore so I really can't say how it compares to other quiet 12cm fans out there.
Hope this helps
Edit: Oh I might've read through the thread too quickly -- I'm not sure which 4114N model mine was. All I remember is that it was 120x38mm and a 4114N.
Also, at 12V the fan wasn't moving that much air, I could only feel some air movement with my hand behind the case (I'd say it was more than my Nexus at 670rpm, but less than at full speed, 1050rpm). It certainly wasn't spinning at 3000rpm or anything.
Hope this helps
