SpeedFan and "external" fan controllers

Post by signal64 » Thu Nov 02, 2006 11:38 am

Is it possible to use SpeedFan with an "external" (i.e. not on the motherboard) fan controllers?

Could swear I saw a screenshot where the sensors detected included a Sunbeam fan controller, but can't find it.

Also can't find a definitive answer on the subject either.

As the motherboard I'm working with only has one fan header that can be controlled, I'd like to extend the number of fans that can be controlled.

However, I'd rather use a util (such as SpeedFan) that can tie in the motherboard and S.M.A.R.T. sensors to fan control rather than having to hook up more sensors to calibrate and use custom software for that fan controller.

Possible?
