Here's a new project I just finished. My AIW 7500 is usually the hottest measured point in this computer, other than the cpu. It has no built-in fan, so I mounted a slot fan right under it. Here's what it looks like with a home-made duct .....constructed so all the exhausted air is drawn over the heat sink of the card.
The fan is a Just Cooler thin slot fan. It has no rpm sensor and I'm controlling the speed by a Zalman fan speed controller. The plastic duct is lined with acoustic foam (compusa). At about 1/2 speed it's plenty cool, very quiet, works good....
There are a number of slot fans around...some are thick enough to require two pci slots. This one only takes up one slot area.

I got the fan at a computer show....white box with no name. I think it's this one....top one. $8 at the show.

The compusa foam works pretty well for me. For small projects, small areas, it applies easily and does make a difference. The box of the stuff they sell for $20 goes pretty far.
