Hey!
Just got two Cooltek 92mm (EL-Bearing) 1000rpm and rated at 12DB. After installation and comparing one of them to my already installed Zalman 92mm (@5v). At close range one can clearly hear the motor clicking and some electricity-like humming. While there is no such sounds from the zalman, however the Zalman is way louder (believe the fan spins at approximately 1380RPMs while @5v), more like a jet engine sound. The overall physical quality was neither to brag about. This is in no way a professional review, just a heads up of the fans motor noice to you people out there.

At "close range" (that is, held close to the ear), virtually all fans are noisy. The question is, what do you hear at one meter? If "nothing", then how close do you have to bring it to just barely hear something?
Also, it would help if you'd give the model number of the fan in question, and where you bought it - the URL if you bought it online.
A 1000RPM 92mm fan should be very quiet indeed at one meter, but probably won't push much air (CFMs).
