Good clear 120mm fan ?

Post by Copyright » Mon Aug 27, 2007 5:04 am

Im looking for a good clear 120mm fan that can light up blue if it has to. I have a scythe S-flex Medium I wantd to use but it doesnt match the rest of my setup to well. I love this fan but is there anything that is clear and comparable to noise/speed of the 1200rpm S-flex? Thanks for any help. This will be going on my Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme to cool my overclocked setup.

Are these comparable?

or

Or

Coolinks almost look like a noiseblocker. I will be running this fan at 6V or so.

I've tried a Coolermaster 120mm Blue LED - it was ok but not in the same league as the quietest fans I've used.

Yate Loon make a D12SM Blue LED which IMO is quite good.

I have a medium speed yate loon right now and even at 5V its not that quiet. I can hear motor noise..its weird and possibly defective. I dont like it becuase the frame is blue. Ive tried teh coolermaster.. not impressed. Ive tried the Scythe S-flex medium I have and was very impressed but I want a clear frame LED or Non LED but clear. The Yate loon frame is blue.

The Yate Loon M I have is clear frame and blue led.

It's quiet as a case exhaust (vertical) but didn't like to be run in horizontal (psu fan) mode.

Hello,

You might consider the Enermax Enlobal fan?

Is there something wrong wtih teh coolink fans? I would like the ability to turn teh fan up fast enough to cool an OC quad core. Im startign to think I should just put another antec Tricool in there and run it on low while undervolting it. It gives me a speed switch to get give me an option to run more airflow if I need it. I have 2 other antec tricools in my case so running a fan quieter then those really doesnt matter right?

Changed my mind again.. I went with the Coolink higher speed one for my CPU... I dont think ill hear it over my antecs after I slow it down. From what ive read Noiseblocker and them are basically the same product.

I stumbled upon this today looking for fan controllers. It may be the fan you seek:

It amazes me how much quiet-computing has permeated into the general PC sector over the years, but that description is about as SPCR-geekish I've ever heard a non-SPCR connected vendor get lol. :D Whether or not it is an accurate description...well at $3 you can't loose. :) Vendor has good ratings as well.

You may need the extra rpms of the 'D12SM-12 equivalent', but the low speed versions don't seem too hard to come by.
