Finally, the long awaited SpeedFan 4.33 Final is online. It includes a lot of fixes and optimizations and supports really a lot of new hardware and configurations. Fan speed readings for all of you ITE IT871xF owners work perfectly now. xAP support is restored on program start. ATI SB600, Intel ICH9 and nVidia MCP55 SMBus are fully supported and devices are discovered through them. The F1 key (for the context sensitive help) works on Vista too. Winbond W83627EHF (and similar) owners can now enter CONFIGURE / ADVANCED and configure several new PWM settings (use with care...).

The Speedfan readings of my motherboard (Asus M2N-4 SLI) were crazy, like 1500000 r.p.m., and now they are correct.

Edit: detects my 7600GS, too!

Yep, SpeedFan finally detects video card sensors.

It now has all the features that I use in Everest. Isn't freeware wonderful?

I donâ€™t what the technical definition of freeware is but Alfredo is very happy to receive a contribution for all the excellent work he has done over the years.
He even accepts Paypal to keep it easy.

I donâ€™t usually pimp other programmers work but I love this program.
Just donâ€™t donate too much or he might retire and stop supporting new chipsets.

Donâ€™t forget to send a report so that he can update the website which shows which motherboards support which features. Go to the info tab, click on the Send Report button and follow the procedure.

Is there a noobs guide to speedfan? I was trying to use it on my wife's computer and it wasn't changing any of the fan speeds... maybe that gigabyte mobo isn't supported, idk. Pretty nice information. I also wish you could change the names of the sensors, like "CPU" instead of "core"

You definitely can, I'm not on Windows right now so I can't double-check how, but you can poke around in the preferences.

You can change the names by clicking "configure" selecting what you want to change and then pressing "F2".

I wanted to say that Speedfan 4.33 now correctly displays fan speed on my Gigabyte GA-P965-DS3, instead of giving me an erratic number.

Speedfan doesn't detect the temp sensor on my Radeon X1800GTO.

ATITool detects it just fine.

Is there some option I'm missing in Speedfan to ensure detection of video card temp sensors? Or does Speedfan only detect nvidia sensors?

Another method to change the names is to go into the settings and just click on the name once. It will become modifyable in a moment.

I don't believe ATI video card support has been added. This is a great release since it helps with a lot of newer mobos...looks like most temps/fan speeds are correct now. I think the eXX50 series is reporting wrong core temps though.

4.32 didnt detect my mobo controlled fan speeds correctly before, but 4.33 now does on my ASUS A8R-MVP ATI Xpress 200 chipset motherboard with ULI M1575 southbridge.

My ATI X1950 pro is not detected, but I dont care because I am using an AC Accelero S1 that has not hit 60C yet, and also ATI Tool that I used to use to control my X800XT PE's fan speed has caused me all sorts of issues that I wont mention right now.

Now all I need to do is to get the BIOS controlled Q-Fan working properly

The new Speedfan also detected the temperature sensor in my laptop which has a nVidia 6150 graphics chip. This allows me to now have only one program to keep close watch on the temps.

But in your expereince, is SpeedFan more accurate at measuring CPU temps than Everest?

Excellent, much-needed update. Now I can use Speedfan as backup in case my temperature sensors fail on the T-Balancer.

Regarding temperatures, I've never used Everest Home to measure them. Speedfan has always followed readings reported by BIOS, reliably and swiftly.

One oddity with the T-Balancer software though, the sensors show up correctly but fan channels can only be configured to follow one. It's a problem with the T-Balancer, not Speedfan.
