How to mod Sunbeam Reobus?

This has been mentioned in a couple other threads: to prevent the Sunbeam voltage going down to zero, it's possible to mod it with an additional trimmer to set a minimum voltage.

Has anyone here done this, and if so, can they provide specifics (maybe even pictures?) on how to do this?
