I'm using a fan controller for the first time. I hooked a Zalman Fan Mate 2 up to a Nexus Real Silent 120mm fan. The fan is plugged into the power supply and the Fan Mate is plugged into the motherboard.
It doesn't seem to do anything at all. The fan appears to be spinning full speed, just like it did before I plugged in the Fan Mate. Turning the knob on the Fan Mate has no discernible effect.
Any suggestions?

Did you plugged nexus using 4-pin molex straight into PSU? Then no wonder. You only can use FanMate if you take power via 3-pin cord, not via molex.
