Where to get rubber/silicone fan mounts?

Post by Zenphic » Sat Feb 21, 2009 11:12 am

NCIX used to sell those Nexus silicone fan mounts, but I can't find them anymore. Where's the best place to get some rubber/silicone fan mounts nowadays for a good price? Alternatively, I could get some Gelid fans and they come with some rubber mounts and aren't too expensive at all.

The best silicone fan mounts I've seen came from Antec but they were expensive.

I have both Nexus and Antec silicone fan mounts, and the Nexus ones are much better than the Antec (unless Antec has different versions that I don't know about). The Nexus silicone is much softer.

The worst I've used are the dirt-cheap generic ones from jab-tech.com (same place I got the Nexus ones, but they don't seem to carry the Nexus ones anymore). Rock hard, a PITA to install, and doubtful it provides much dampening ability.

endpcnoise or frozencpu?

edit: are we talking the ones to use in place of screws? the black ones that are really long for closed corner fans seem a lot better to me than the shorter blue ones also...

The best mounts I have found are made by antec.

Hi alphabetbackward. Thanks a lot for the link to Antec silicon fan mounts at a much better price. I needed to order some more soon.

I have been so wrong. The Nexus fan mounts I recently tried are indeed better than the Antec mounts. Both are very soft but the Nexus mounts can be easily removed for reuse and also work with closed corner fans.
