SFLEF D 800RPM ticking

Post by CoolGuy90 » Sun Oct 25, 2009 9:14 am

According to SPCR, their SFLEX D had a ticking noise. Is this a common problem when running at 12V? I want to use it horizontally on my P182.

Thanks

You want to use it for the top, horizontal exhaust? I personally would recommend blocking off the top exhaust with foam and only using the back for exhaust for the quietest setup. But yeah, if you really what to go horizontal with an S-Flex the 1200rpm on a resister is probably the best route to take.

For what it's worth, I'm running a Slipstream 800rpm at 6v horizontal in a Seasonic PSU in a P180 for the past ~20months. A Slipstream 800rpm at 12v may do the trick for you, though perhaps with a shorter lifetime.
