92mm for an sntec solo nexus pwm or scythe kama
im on newegg.com and looking at scythe or nexus fans. how do they compare. im also wondering why scythe comes recommended in the 120 and 80mm size but not the 92mm on this site. any ideas on the 2 questions?

You probably do not need front fans with the Antec Solo. The hard drives have ample airflow with no obstructions. I run four Samsung hard drives which rarely exceed 35 degrees with all airflow provided by a rear Slipstream running at 700 rpm. I threw the metal front fan mount in the trash can.
Even if you have extremely hot components there is certainly no need for two front fans.

After you tossed the front fan mount, did you use anything as a front filter?Michael Sandstrom wrote:You probably do not need front fans with the Antec Solo. This motherboard has a PWM CPU fan socket, so you can use a PWM fan on your CPU cooler if you wish. If you wish to use a PWM CPU cooler fan and other PWM fans as well you will need a PWM splitter cable. It would make more sense if you want to deploy other PWM fans to have a PWM exhaust fan. But it all depends on what you are planning to use the system for. If you're planning to overclock and/or use a fairly powerful graphics card then in my opinion it makes more sense to go the PWM fan route. But if its going to be a low-power non-gaming system then a single non-PWM exhaust fan run at a lowish fixed rpm will be sufficient.nyhcbri wrote:can i use Nexus PWM Series DF1209SL-3PWM 92mm Case Fan with ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO/U3S6 motherboard or will they just spin at top speed
