Scythe Kaze Master Ace and Stythe Kaze Server questions

Hi! I'm in the market for a fan controller, and I have narrowed it down to these Scythe units:

- Scythe Kaze Master Ace
- Scythe Kaze Server

However I have some questions:

1) Can't find right now where, but I read that just after you turn on your PC, the Kaze Server runs the fans at max speed for a moment, then they go back to the expected speed. Is it true? Does it happen with the Master Ace too?

2) Screen color? Am I right if I say blue and light green on the Master, blue-ish white on the Server?

3) Screen on/off? I know it's possible with the Server, but what about the Master?

4) Screen brightness? Do you consider it offensive or something?

5) I plan to run 3 fans in 1 channel (radiator fans, WC). The diode/transistor thingie in my current controller gets incredibly hot when the fans are set to minimum speed, no problem when the fans are at 12V. Will this be a problem with any of them? The fans are D12SL-12 Yate Loons.

Also, just in case, would you recommend any other controller, comparable to the Scythes?

Thanks in advance!

Get a sunbeam rheostat instead. You can switch the fans from PWM to variable manually controlled voltage as you need to.

+1 ces suggestion, i think the new sunbeam rheostat fan controllers are very versatile with their options of PWM or manual. A little cheaper, SUNBEAMTECH PL-RS-6 RHEOSMART 6 FAN CONTROLLER $31.99 free shipping.

The ultimate fan controller is Lamptron FC5 (Version 2!!!). 30W per channel, the best display on the market, awesome looks, 8 or so options for display color, top quality.

Iirc it depends of the mode: the Server do so in the automatic modes; as the Ace - afaik - shouldn't sport any automatic mode, I think that it doesn't do so (but I dunno for sure).

That's correct.

The Server's brightness is IMO too much low to be really comfortable (at least with daylight): on the contrary, I know that the Ace is one of the brightest on the market, but I don't have a first hand experience about this latter.

The Server has an absolute maximum of 1A per channel: so your idea doesn't sound right to me, with this controller. I think it should be the same with the Ace.

But are you sure that you need a fan controller?

The Server is a very good all around, there aren't really comparable products afaik, while I wouldn't consider the Ace for a fire and forget approach.

For your requirements, I would consider an mCubed T-Balancer series controller.
