Hello all,

Any recommendations for quiet replacement fans for the 1U CSE-510T-200B chassis. Thank you.

What parts do you plan on putting in this case?

Where is the computer going to live while it is working?

Do you still need the case to fit into the U1 slot?
(If you do not need the case to be U1, you could cut holes for top-mounted 120mm fans. It is hard to achieve a full-power system that is both compact & quiet.)

There's a Scythe Kaze Mini Ultra 40X40X20mm fan that goes to "only" 3500 RPM.
I wouldn't expect too much airflow or quietness from it, though.
It would expect a 1U system to be too quiet with anything but very low power components like an Atom Z series and 2.5" hard drives.

I should have been more specific, my apologies.

I am putting an Atom board in the case, a SuperMicro X7SPE-HF-D525.

The chassis will be located in the living in a cabinet I modified (cut the back out of). It is located near the entertainment center so I that is the reason I wanted to replace the stock fans with a more quiet version.

And it needs to stay 1U, I don't have space to put a fan on top. Thank you.

I don't know what to recommend. All the small fans that I have seen are either quiet or move a noticeable quantity of air. None of them do both.

I would install the Atom board and disconnect the front fans and the mid-case fan. An Atom board with LP/Green/Eco/SSD hard drives should be able to be run with only the power supply fan.

Use some monitoring software to be sure that your temperatures do not get too high. I like the free SpeedFan software if you are running Microsoft Windows. If you are running Linux, then you should take a look at the search results for your distribution and "install LM Sensors".

If temperatures get too high, you should connect the fans again. If this is too loud consider a simple fan controller.
