Amd xp2500 Cpu cooling ?

Hi all I have been searching for a quiet cooling solution but my motherboard (Gigabyte GA-7n400 pro) http://www.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/Pr ... 0Pro2.htm#

but have been unable to find the right heatsink to attatch to the mobo ...
Since its got no holes in it to hold the heatsink in place
(Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu)

Ive tried searching for a solution here on the forum but came up with nothing

If anyone has had any success with silencing this type of cpu/mobo
(2500xp / Gigabyte 7n400 pro2) ....

plz let me know

i have this same mainboard with a 2800+. the aerocool ht-101 would do the job

That coiled turned 90 degrees is very close to the CPU socket, and could possibly interfear with lots of coolers, so I advice you to go with something that has been tested on that particular motherboard.
Digitizers suggestion with HT-101 seems like a very good choice.

That motherboard can't really need active cooler on the NB if it uses a decent heatsink. I would get Zalmans NB-47 heatsink (the blue one). It will monut perfectly with push-pins through the holes in exactly the same manner as the stock NB fan uses.

You may also consider something like the Spire WhisperRock IV, which is shaped like an inverted trapezoid:

I do not have a GA-7N400 Pro2, though, so I cannot say for sure.

The Spire WhisperRock IV is a nice and cheap CPU cooler, but performance is not even close to that of the HT-101.

True, but neither is the price.

I do agree that the HT-101 is a better cooler.

how about the old zalman flower coolers? I've got my xp2500 cooled by one and it's working great (hasnt hit 50cel in months)
