Yate loon fans, a bunch of us were wondering where to get those!
This is probably even better than finding the 1000 rpm ones at that price, these should be much more useable for power supplies.
And that place has other yate loon fans too, too bad the medium speed 12cm one is transparent, and the black 8cm one uses ball bearings.
Edit: The black finned 8cm aluminum fan appears to be a low speed sleeve bearing yate loon.

Sorry, I should change my profile. I'm in the UK but I'm in the US Military stationed here. I have an overseas US mailing address so shipping from the US is normally not a problem. s/h only cost me $4p5 wrote:how much was shipping to the UK?Mr_Smartepants wrote:I just ordered two.
I hope they live up to all of the hype!
Showed up as $20 via USPS to me.
If you're referrring to me, then none, as it's more expensive (not by much) including shipping than the nexus 120mm which we can get here for £14 delivered.burcakb wrote:How many did you order? $19 USPS to Turkey for 4 pieces ???p5 wrote:how much was shipping to the UK?Mr_Smartepants wrote:I just ordered two.

I guess it would be cheaper if I wanted 2.

I'm not a fan (haha, I made a pun!) of the orange color, but they do boast some great specs. How's motor noise on these? This is one of my biggest concerns with 120mm fans. I've been looking for something comparable to the Antec 120mm that came with my SLK3700-BQE. If they receive more stock, I'll definitely be ordering two.

Welcome to SPCR!
Hello & Welcome to SPCR!
How's the noise -- I'll tell you a little after I get mine! If they are anything like the medium speed 120mm Yate Loons in the Fortron Source PS's in my experience -- they are very quiet indeed! The medium speed models have to be undervolted quite a ways, but they just "whoosh".
The Nexus 120mm which is made by Yate Loon, runs a little slower (~1,000RPM) at 12v, whereas these are a little over 1200RPM at 12v, and I'd guess the medium speed models do about 2,000RPM. Now if we could only find some of the Glacial Tech 9-blade fans...

Thanks for the welcome. I have been lurking around in the shadows for the last couple days, and just decided to register. Figured I could ask some questions, and hopefully offer some helpful advice to others.
About the noise, that sounds great. Airflow noise doesn't bother me a bit, I can always lower the voltage. As long as there isn't much motor whine or bearing grind I'll be a happy camper.
I just sent compgeeks an email inquiring as to when these fans would be back in stock. I'll let you guys know what I hear from them.

No need to guess, the medium speed fans are 1650rpm http://www.yateloon.com/dcfan-2.htm#120x120x25NeilBlanchard wrote: The Nexus 120mm which is made by Yate Loon, runs a little slower (~1,000RPM) at 12v, whereas these are a little over 1200RPM at 12v, and I'd guess the medium speed models do about 2,000RPM. The low speed ones are supposed to go 1350, if it goes 1200 it might be the ball bearing version.
