I just got my phantom today. Had a look @ it, it has the BLACK QA stamp = old batch

Apparently it's going to die in 3 weeks with its "known issue".

I just installed my Phantom yesterday. It arrived from 'coolerguys' a few days ago. I hope it's not from that batch - where on the unit is the stamp you mention?

Just checked mine has the purple testing stamps, but still the 'D04" serial.

What does it all mean.....

Probably nothing - Antec's pretty good about replacing them anyway

check both side of the Phantom, there should be stickers on both sides.

My stickers are all black and it says o4.

I'm doomed.

Obviously I should keep my day job and not go into comedy. yeha is right; just enjoy your PSU ... while you still have it MUAH HA HA  (sorry couldn't resist). Even if it dies, wouldn't you be well within the warranty period?

Then that's more than a month (even more so in February) and you can be confident that it'll live. Personally I would be more worried that it'll pack up the day after your warranty expires.

that'd be 3 years. I think it's time to get a new PSU after 3 years anyway :D

mine start with 0411, didn't see any purple sticker

it runs kinda warm with the only 2 fans in my case running at 6V, especially the part inside the case. but once i set the fans running at 10V, it runs very cool. air circulate through the bottom fins and bring some heat from inside out. so far i've been very satisfied with it.

i just asked the shop in Australia, they have sold about 30 Phantoms, and only 1 returned. however the warranty is 12 months only.

I got my Phantom from auspcmarket, on their website it says:
If you receive a product that is dead on arrival, or has any other warrantable fault within 7 days of purchase, we will endeavour to replace it immediately on return to us, or arrange to loan you an equivalent product until it can be replaced. Goods returned after this time will be repaired or replaced as per the supplier’s usual warranty.

If you check antec's website you'll see:

AQ3 Antec's unbeatable 3-year parts and labor warranty

Why do you think it comes with one year warranty?

I think he's saying shop warranty. After one year, you're to contact Antec for warranty yourself. I think that's what he ment.

Yes that's what i meant.

btw, they said 1 out of 30 was returned, not 300. they said it's about normal.

Yep thats correct. Over here in Australia, my replacement phantom took 2 weeks. The new one has just reached its 21st day in operation as of today (3 weeks) and now i've overclocked my CPU :D

The manufacturers warranty may vary from country to country. I'm an Aussie living in Japan, and it doesn't seem to matter what I buy, everything has a maximum one-year warranty. I took a few shop staff to task over this recently (when I discovered my American-made speakers with an advertised 5-year warranty only actually have a one-year warranty here in Japan) and they politely explained that 'you only get a one year warranty in Japan because this is Japan, and everything has a one year warranty in Japan'. Interesting logic, and broadly accepted it would seem. I asked if my warranty would be upgraded to five years if I were to move to the US with them, and they said the warranty wouldin fact be void if I were to do that.

If you're living outside of the US, I'd get it in writing that the warranty is still good for 3 years if I were you...
