Finally a concurrent for Antec's Aria !

Yes, Silverstone did it :D :D Code name is SG01 and it seems to be a good step to mATX case with ATX PSU and decent airflow. It also looks great, as always with Silverstone.
Perhaps even more important : it seems to launch a new serie of cases, named Sugo, which means Silverstone is going to produce more and more mATX cases, just as with lascala before.

It's also confirmed by their introduction guide :
"Creating a small form factor (SFF) enclosure without a proprietary motherboard or power supply is a challenge that few companies want to face. For SilverStone, this intriguing challenge was welcomed with open arms and our engineers created yet another segment-defining design that will become the standard for years to come. The SG01’s immaculate aluminum interior offers incredible amount of space for nearly all standard ATX components in a foot print that is only a few inches larger than typical SFF systems. With its carefully arranged cooling configuration and the ability to accommodate a wide array of Micro ATX motherboards, ATX power supplies, and even two double width graphics cards, the SG01 will ensure greater upgrade possibility than ever before."

hmm... classy appearance as we've come to expect from Silverstone, but the 60mm exhaust fan is a bit of a downer. Still, it takes a standard ATX PSU which might evacuate enough air on its own for a Pentium-M or other low-heat setup. Aluminium body also, but a decent 1.5mm thick which combined with the relatively small size of the panels might mean it's rigid enough not to resonate too badly.

I'd definitely give it the nod over the Aria looks-wise, but I expect as usual style won't come cheap...

Looking at the the "box" the 60mm exhaust fan lives in, there seems to be enough room for an 80mm fan with simple cutting/drilling of a new opening.

I'm not sure what the intake fan on the side left front is meant for - it looks to feed a small duct?

It's about 20% bigger as well
Dimensions (W H D)

Antec Aria 269 x 200 x 335
Silverstone SG01 263 x 210 x 393
But I would more worry about cramming all cables that come with standard ATX PSU into that small box. That would require serious cable-gami-fu or some smart cable mngt features on the PSU.

A modular psu and some cable managing stuck to the central structure (bad english at midnight, my brain is surrounded by clouds...) could do the job. With some dremeling also, i suppose a 80mm would fit at the back. No need of the upper 60mm with psu fan and heatsink fan.

The real problem now is to find a mATX s939 with all what i need : gigabyte is coming with some interresting stuff but motherboards' manufacturers have to adapt themselves to this new marcket now. Please, listen to us guys

Anyway, it would look pretty good on my table and could be really silent with some efforts. Juste hope for a price under 200 $

I really don't like the idea of the psu sucking all the heat from the hot cpu. Sure, the cpu will run cooler, but the power source's fan is gonna ramp up. Maybe it's just that I live in quiet lil'Augusta, but the loudest thing in my computer is the low rumble of my 400w tornado fan at the moment.( It runs much quieter when i open the case up, but I dont' want pollen, dust, etc. gettin in there.) I'd hope that silverstone can build its own, small power source (fanless options would be awesome) and stick a 120mm fan slot in place of where the psu currently is.

it does look like a great case, though i agree the 60mm fans are a shame.

all we need is for some motherboard manufacturer to make a high-end nForce4 Ultra/SLI chipset. :D

Man, that case is HUGE! It's roughly 1.5 times wider than a standard ATX case or a Shuttle cube. Does this even qualify for the name "SFF"?
Me, I don't like it. :?

Yeah, it's more SUMO than SUGO I'd say.

It's kinda long, but otherwise looks great for the htpc I want to build. I just wander:
1. final street price?
2. does it have vibration dampening for the harddrive?
3. when will it be available?

edit: I bet I could watercool that
edit2: just read tomshardware's review of it, and it has no hard drive vibration dampening :(

I think the 60mm fan size kinda sucks. The 80mm that is used for the HDD cage can be easily remedied, but 60mm, for me, I have yet to find a nice quiet one. On the other hand, since it accepts ATX PSUs, one with a 120mm definately would help. Probably, given the right setup (Athlon 64 w/XP120?), could just forego the 60mm exhaust altogether and let the 120mm do all teh cooling, since there are vents on both sides!

$190 bucks?!! That's more than the cpu and motherboard I was thinking of putting in one of those. I don't think I like it nearly as much anymore.

I guess that XCube one from Aopen with the 120mm exhaust is the perfect SFF case ;P

Damn. It has such large surface area yet none of it is used for a side panel : ( And holy crap, $190 is not even funny, especially for a case that has no motherboard and PSU.

It's a nice case and all, but I think I'll stick with the X-Qpack. It's a better deal for me. half the price too.
