Innovatek Eheim HPPS Plus

Post by e v o » Tue Sep 06, 2005 6:23 pm

Hey guys. I am extremely new to watercooling, but am after (as most of you here are) an almost inaudible system.

I've read through pump reviews here on the quietest one. The 1048 and the MAG seem to be the most commonly known. My problem is i like the HPPS Plus, but it uses 8mm ID and i can't/dont know if there is an adapter to 1/2" ID.

I would really like to throw this with one of those plug on resevoirs.

And if i cant, i would want to use the 1048. Would this have enough power to cool a CPU and GPU.

Thanks guys

Ben

The Innovatek HPPS is just a 12V DC version of the Eheim 1048 AC pump. Whatever fittings and adapters that work with the 1048 should work with the HPPS.

Sorry, three posts here that should have just been one.

Have you looked into the Zalman Reserator? It's very quiet, has the ability to cool all but the most power-hungry systems, and, as long as you use a water additive, pump longevity should not be a problem.

There are a lot of forum threads about it here and at other sites.

thanks for the reply. I don't see a 8mm to 1/2" but maybe im missing something.

As for the Zalman, i think i want to keep it all in house.

All three pumps you are considering are good choices

Actually the HPPS is a modified Eheim 1046, not 1048. The HPPS however offers a better head than the 1048 : 5.5' (HPPS) vs 4.1' (1048); the normal 1046 offers a very small head of 3.1'. Any of the 3 pumps is a very good choice for a silent PC. I personally favor the MAG as it's the smallest of them.
