Hi,
Just wondering what kind of temperatures the passive versions of 7600GS are getting in both idle and load modes. I was thinking of getting 7600GT (which is alot faster) but was hearing things about how noisy the stock fan is, so thinking about the 7600GS now.
Thanks for any help!

I don't know about the GS, but I can tell you my 7600GT maxes out at 71C with its passive Zalman ZM80D-HP. That is in a warm, 28C, room with one instance of the HDRIBL demo running and one instance of Prime95 to keep the other core busy.
So, if it is heat you are concerned about, and the cooling must be passive, the main reason to pass on the GT is budget, not noise.

Hmm, thanks for the info - I'll keep a look out for passive 7600GT's in online stores (UK). I'm not bothered if the cooling solution is not completely silent, but want something that's quiet enough that it doesn't drown out the sound in games or watching DVD's. Those temperatures of 71C max look very good for a passive solution. I'm a bit dissappointed nearly all the board makers vitually went with the reference fan, so limiting choice.
