Where is TRC-13??

Post by MikeC » Mon Jun 23, 2003 8:58 pm

Has anyone else noticed that TRC-13's production has virtually ceased since a few days ago? Something seems to have happened to him & his farm starting around a week ago. TRC-13! What's happening?

Yes, I had noticed. I hope he's just on summer holiday.
I also noticed that the last 2 weeks our production is slowly slipping. Or actually, the other teams are all increasing production while we aren't. 3 weeks ago we were #24 of most producing teams, now we are #30 in week production and #31 in day production (another sign we are still on the way down).

My performance is down as well. We are moving some boxes around and the downtime was inevitable. Should be better soon. I also was wondering what happened to TRC-13. He took the lead on the team for awhile, then suddenly the air went out of his tires.

Our number of active users is still increasing though :)

may I point out for my part that it's f**** hot here and that my minimal ambiant temp in the middle of the night is over 25°C

hence, I stopped all my 'home' pc because I didn't wanted 2 more 200W heating source in there, just leaving a poor duron folding at work.

you think 25°C is bad? I get to visit galveston, texas right now.... yesterday the Heat Stress was 113 degrees (thats kinda like wind chill, but with humidity and the opposite direction) which basically means its like 95 degrees and 95 percent humidity.

I think I'm gonna get hypothermia or something, you spend a minute outside sweating like mad already, but then you enter the arctic siberia air conditioning of the buildings.

It's getting close to the mid 30sC° down here in the deep South. Humidity is something like 80%. You stand outside for more than a min. and you clothes will be soaked with sweat.

900 people died recently in southeast india because of 42C weather (and hence, lack of rain and water supply). its averaging around 38 here now a days.

er...almost 13 hours since the search started, and still no sign of TRC-13. :(

yes, if your leaving a building here, its to go as fast as you can to another air conditioned building.

I actually spent several hours without air conditioning, in a hangar, but they had fans and there were lots of cool ww2 era plane stuff. By the end I was ready for A/C again though.....

Its hard to beleive people actually like living here.

As for TRC-13, he was probably so afraid of my hopefully soon to be folding power that he fled for the hills. Dunno why though.

Looks like TRC-13 is back -- at least there's some production in the past few days!

Yeah he's been around the whole time. It looks like he went from 28 processors to 1. Maybe he got laid off  :(

Heh, Good to see I have been missed. I am in the process of moving and I also just got married. I have been working on my new house and turning the basement into a 24 station computer lab. And I tell you, that's alot of work! This is one of the first chances I have had to get back on the internet. My SDSL line should be in sometoime next month and I can start folding again. It aslo seems someone has been jumping on my TRC-13 account and folding under my name. I have NO machines running and the stats show 2. Go figure. :? Anyway I have not forgotten about you guys and I WILL be back. 8)
