This third version I am very interested in as it appears to look different by the keycaps. Does anyone have this keyboard? And if so, could you describe it in terms of how the typing experience is like (with pics of the keycaps?). I am considering buying one, but do not want to buy something only to be disappointed in it....

Here's the Logitech wireless desktop I got recently. I'm well pleased. I mounted the little receiver internally, so you can't even see it. The remote works good....controls most all the functions of my AIW card. Don't know exactly what you look for in a keyboard, but I like this one. I'm using it with XP Pro....
I suggest you go to someplace like Office Depot where you can try the thing before you buy.....

This keyboard/mouse combo isn't new: I've got one for over a year.
I haven't really tried the wired UltraX to compare, but I personally prefer this keyboard over any non-flat keyboard I've used. Since it is so flat and the keypresses are less deep than a traditional keyboard, you can type much faster on it, and you don't need one of those gel armrests. I actually chose it for it's small footprint: most "media" keyboards take up so much space nowadays. I would say that the batteries last 1/2 to 2/3 of a year with a medium amount of use (I use it at home only).
What do you mean when you say keycaps?
The mouse is average, it depends what you're used to. I've tried a G5, so I might be a bit picky: the mouse isnt' very precise, and the button sometimes creaks abit, the middle-click (roller-click) doesn't work every time, maybe it's because it has the sideways scroll function that I don't need since I'm not a bean counter or a strategy gamer. It also freaks out when the battery is low, and eats batteries, I think I change them every 1 to 2 months.
I'm still using the mouse since, even though it's average, I make average use of it: I'm not much of a gamer or graphics artist, and it has one major advantage: both keyboard and mouse use the same receiver, which uses one USB plug: nice clean and tidy.
