Post by thegreek » Fri Mar 09, 2007 10:29 am

Image
* Larger surface area than any other heatsinks (140mm x 120mm) with option to install one or even two 140mm fans

* Designed for better air flow management to work with the heatsink fans* and the air inside your computer case

* Four large 8mm heatpipes to distribute massive amount of heat fast and efficiently

* Optional to rotate the heatsink 90 degrees to best fit your system configuration

* Multi-platform compatible backplate for installation on vast number and type of motherboard. No need for complicated tools to convert

* Includes a back-side dual heatpipe heatsink (patent pending), which not only additionally cools your CPU but also takes care of the heat coming from the back of the motherboard to extend the life expectancy and stability of your motherboard
All I have to say is WOW

Hello,

The only possible negative is the tight fin spacing, though it looks like they have kept them shallow -- and what's up with all those "spikes" on the edges of the fins?

I'm more in shock of the back side heatsink/mounting plate with twin heatpipes and provisions for a 70mm or 80mm fan.

Details aside, it looks like 2 Ultra 120's.

It also looks like one Sonic Tower, with the fins squared instead of rounded.

tuniq tower anyone?

looks interesting, i wonder how tall it is (would have to be at least 17cm, assuming 3cm clearance+14cm of fins)

They could be there to accommodate the fan clips for various fan sizes and configurations.

I wonder how I"m supposed to fit that backside heatsink between my mobo and the mobo tray.

Turbulence generators?

Are we sure this is real? Thermalright.com and Google both have nothing on this. Original Poster: What's your source, got a link?

its not april fools day yet... *blinks* Ok, I think peoples WILL have some serious issues fitting that monster with dual fans... Even with Single fan...

If single 140mm fan would be installed middle of the fins, then size wouldn't be that muchof an problem, but if two fans are installed outer sides of the fins... Yeah, well... That looks big...

Luckily it accepts also all 120mm fans so you are not limited to 140mm only.

It still probably performs like winner, even though its monster size and probably high price ( its Thermalright after all ) I still probably would take Ultra 120 instead that. Less problems fitting I'd say.

Maybe the backside cooler goes in the space in between the two sets of Towers?

Or maybe not as it says 70-80mm fan...

i think this is actually one too many steps in the "larger is better" heatsink trend.

With cpu thermals dropping with every new revision, you'd think they would start innovating again to provide similar cooling as a large heatsink in a smaller package. Say with some of that stuff from the main page (iso skin) instead of aluminum fins.

whichever company steps up to use that stuff first, and designs it to be compact yet still with the same performance as these monstrocities, they will have a huge winner on their hands.

Looks like Scythe Mine beefed up to Scythe Infinity level by putting more fins in and heatpipes. I'm sort of bemused though, I'm sure hard-core overclockers would like it, but it's sort of pointless as majority of new CPUs have reasonable heat dissipation now.

Me still hugs my Ninja heatsinks, those are absolutely awesome, I will not trade them for anything. One of them cools my P4 3.4GHz in P180 with only one antec case fan on low to 30 degrees celsius idle.
