Vista 64bit compability?

Hi, I know several users here are running Vista on their machines.
I'd like to know how well software and drivers are running on Vista64. Most suppliers of drivers and software only have Vista32 versions on their websites. Can anyone tell me if these or the XP64 versions also work with Vista64?
I just bought a brandnew 64bit (C2D) computer (due to arrive next week) and would therefore of course like to install a 64bit OS.

I just built a C2D system and loaded Vista 64 bit. Today, I tried to load the P5Be drivers and since they are NOT digitally signed, I can't load them.

Anyone know how to make this work?

To follow up, I uninstalled the ethernet controller from device manager and rescanned for HW changes. This time Vista picked up the new device and loaded the driver from the Asus software CD.

Now I'm finding that TAT won't run under Vista/64.

There's no benefit to using 64-bit Vista unless you want to address more than 4GB of RAM. The extra security features in it breaks a lot of programs and requires signed drivers that manufacturers are too slow or unwilling to write. Even if you have a 64-bit CPU, you should not use 64-bit Vista.

Yeah, you may be right. But I thought it worth trying. Thus far, TAT is the only thing I haven't been able to run. But I haven't tried a broad range of programs yet either.

I'm considering going back to V/32 for now.

I have much to learn about Vista.
