HR-03 on my 8800 ultra :-(
Well I got the heatsink on no problem, but those dam &^(*^(*&^ memory heatsinks will not stay on!!! They keep falling off. I ran the computer for an hour to burn them in, turn the computer upright and they fall right off. I need to goto the store tommorrow and get some srtic thermal adhesive from frys I should have listen to the reviews for this heatsink, that you need to buy thermal adhesive for the memory, I figured naw that can't be true.....right it couldn't be more true

As long as you clean the memory properly, removing all the old compound and any residue from the cleaning, the memory sinks should stay attached no problem - I've put HR-03/03+'s in 4 PCs now and have yet to see a memory/power circuitry sink fall off. Like YugenM said, a bit of pressure is the most you need to do.

Ace temps for such a high power GPU. The Nexus fan always concerned me, what with it being a sleeve bearing fan, vertically mounted onto a heat source, seemed like a double suicide. What sort of case ventilation do you have? I would like an 8800GTX/Ultra, but only if I can HR-03 Plus it using quiet case fans (120mm units, ideally no more than 1100rpm)
something about sleeve fans being less reliable than bearing ones, and the orientation also playing a factor.
Plus when bearing fans die they make noise, while sleeve ones just stop working, making them dangerous on hot stuff.
But the question usually is how long will they be fine, and when that is a few years, you'll have a new system anyway, or if you don't just replace the fan every year if you're really paranoid.

There is no practical problem mounting Nexus or any other sleeve bearing fan on an HR-03. There is a theoretical reduction in the lifetime of the fan if it is blowing up or down because the lubrication is compromised in this position, but practically this is a non-issue since you'll want to replace the card long before the fan is likely to fail.
Personally I've never seen a sleeve bearing fan fail, although of course I know it is more likely than with other types of bearings.
If you have a reasonably new motherboard, you can use one of the three-pin fan headers on the board to control the fan, and use SpeedFan to control and monitor its speed.
Even if the fan fails, the GPU will just shut down. All modern graphics cards have overtemperature safeguards.
And as for the memory, GDDR3 does not get hot, and does not need heat sinks.

You just use zip ties to fasten a larger 120mm fan to the HR-03 Plus.
Alternatively, you'd hang the fan beneath the cooler using elastic or string.
