ATI x1800 XT Cooler

Post by desert0mirage » Wed Sep 05, 2007 12:31 pm

Hey guys! I currently own an x1800 XT and want to replace the stock cooler with something else. I have looked at the AC Accelero S1, and the Accelero S1 with the Turbp Module upgrade. I want the temps to be low, but I also want it much quieter as the stock cooler sounds like an engine. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas, please feel free to let me know. Thanks in advance!!

P.S. I use the DFI-Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D motherboard, and the card barely clears the fan in the picture (not sure what the fan is, aka noob). I thought I would add this piece of info, because if the cooler is larger than the width of the card, it probably will not fit over the fan.

Have you considered the Zalman VF900-Cu? I used the VF900-Cu on a X1800-XT card and it ended up to be quiet and effective, even at its slowest speed. It comes with a Fanmate which lets you change the RPM easily.

This is actually what I would suggest as well, although an Accelero S1 w/ turbo module would also work. Either one is going to be great for you really.
