How many HD can I fit in a P182...

...without significantly affect the temperature/airflow?

I am basically hours away from ordering a P182, as I find my Coolermaster CM201 Black Widow to be a fine looking case, yet I find the (lack of) depth restrictive for the tower heatsink.

However, I am wondering whether the need to mount 4-5 HD, and desire to keep them fairly cool (~35), make another case a better case (e.g. the Nine Hundred).

Noise is something I would like to diminish in my next build, and I am willing to pay that with less overclocking, careful choice of GFX card (main noise maker in my current system), but not at the cost of putting my HD at risk.

Mods that requires a drill/dremel or anything that could result in bloodshed is probably unsuitable for me.

Should I still go ahead with the P182?

Edit: Oh yea, what accessories would I also need to buy for cable management purpose? I've read somewhere about "4/8 pin extension as well as a 24 pin extension" - what do they look like?

you can happily mount up to 9 drives...but that's assuming you only want one optical drive.

4 to 5 drives is cake, three in the bottom, two in the middle chamber. if you're really on top of things, you can suspend a couple in the 5.25" bays.

Thanks. Going back to the accessory bit, I vaguely remember that the Seasonic S-12's power cable was stretched in a P180. I assume that this may still be an issue on the P182. Is there anything I can use to get around that?

I've currently got 3 Yate Loon's. Is it worth replacing the stock fan with them? What material do people normally use to block the top exhaust?

And please let me know if there is anything else I should consider adding to/removing from the case (that does not require big tools). Cheers.

I have 4 in my lower HD cage and another in the upper cage. HD temps range from low 30's C to mid 40's C depending on time of year, fan speed, and if I'm over due for cleaning out the filters.

CPU temps are typically in the mid 40's C.

I replaced my fans before I even used the computer... I went solely off reviews and went with some Yate Loon fans. I'm happy with them.

Thanks. And that leaves the S12. Someone must have tried this setup. Two years ago Seasonic S12 were the de-facto recommendation amongst the non passive PSU!

According to mike C in the 120mm fan roundup, the fans that come in the case are pretty decent on low, but the S-flex, nexus, and noctua. Seeing as how the yate loons are louder than the nexus, it might not be an upgrade to swap them in.

still only happily mounting 9..4 in the bottom, 2 in the middle, 3 suspended [if you want that]. i've never seen more than two drives in the middle chamber, but if i'm wrong on that, lemme know. but you also wouldn't want to keep so many drives in one place, it does warm up a lot...while you could, its not entirely wise to rely on 1 fan to cool 4 drives. if i had enough drives and a P182 myself, i'd totally try to work it out, but i don't have my own, its too expensive for me.
