Antect Solo Tricool on Low compared to Noctua S12 800?

Any thoughts on how a Noctua S12-800 would compare to the Tricool rear case fan on low that came with my Antec Solo case?

The spec sheet I have for the Tricool says 25dB for 39 CFM.
The review on this site for the Noctua says ~20dB for 41 CFM.

If that's the case it would appear the Noctua is a clear winner. However, I thought I read they may have overstated the CFM values for the Noctua? If so, what do you suppose the actual CFM would be?

I'd essentially like to reduce the dB rating of my rear case fan without affecting the CFM too much.

Noctua is clear winner. Only problem is that in some situation Noctua might howl. Not every hear that. I have one Noctua 800 RPM full in game rig as exhaust. Nexus 120mm is louder at full than Noctua. And Nexus is far quieter than Tricool on Low.

How does the CFM compare? Fairly equivalent, or is the Noctua 800 significantly lower?

Noctua 800 shifts 35 CFM at full speed.

Only time I've had my Noctua howl is when there's limited intake, so the fan has to work too hard for the given RPM. Increasing intake area or lowering RPM will fix the howling.

TriCool sounds rough - at any setting - compared to the smooth Noctua. If you're planning the Noctua as an exhaust, I'd just go for the 1200 RPM model from the start to guarantee pressure balance. It's just as quiet(not speaking of absolute silence here) at comparable RPM and can move the necessary amounts of air.

Lol. No it isn't. 800rpm was too loud for me so I ramped it down!

I know, I'm a nut.

But still... there is no more pressure balance guarantee on the 1200rpm model than the 800rpm!(?)

If you want to ensure negative pressure in the case, you make sure your exhaust CFM is sufficient.

You're just spinning words now aren't you? My exhaust fan is quite sufficient, for all purposes, at 500rpm(!)

You haven't made your point any more clear.

EDIT: Without an intake fan it doesn't matter how damn slowly the exhaust fan spins. Therefore I suggest the 800rpm model over the 1200rpm model any day.

Um. I'm missing something here. Without an intake fan, if the exhaust fan spins at zero RPM, it would seem to me that not much cooling would get accomplished. Am I misreading something, or did you accidentally misword the above?

You misread. I said how slowly the fan SPINS. Zero rpm is not SPINNING. Lord give me strength.
