Yeah, I remember the socket 754 and 939 coolers being very easy to install. Luck you for getting all 4. I know I got 2, 3 perhaps. Temps are ok for me too, but I'm definately looking for some different mounting scheme when I get a new cooler. What kinda temps are you seeing, and what program?average_joe wrote:Thanks!that Linux guy wrote:Very nice build average_joe. How're the Intel push-pins working out for that Scythe Mine? It looks like a big cooler, and I've never trusted those little plastic pins to hold any thing.
I would prefer if Intel had the same clips as AMD. It took me 30 min to get them right, but I think it will stay in place now. Temps are good too...

For those who are not aware, the stock 200 mm top fan is an Antec Tri-Cool with a 3-way switch mounted on the back of the case. I have mine on low speed (as I believe average_joe does--or at least did) and I don't find it objectionable at all (but I am not a fanatic when it comes with noise). I can't really hear it from more than 2-3 feet away (carpeted floor).average_joe wrote:So the main source of noise is clearly the big 20cm fan.
I'm not sure if I will keep it or if I will try to control it using a fanmate or something...
On my Mini P180 build, I am also using the 120 mm Tri-Cool stock fan on the rear of the case at low speed, but I am thinking of shutting it off becasue the 200 mm top case fan is sufficient (even though I have no fan on the Xigmatek S1283 HS on top of an AMD 4050e processor). My CPU idles at 2 C over ambient (which means 24-25 C CPU temp at idle). Only other fan in my system is the from my Corsair 450 PSU (just like the one average_joe installed).

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but something you could think about in the future if airflow seems restricted or to kill one or two more dB's would be to cut out the fan grills, and cut bigger slots in the plastic pieces on the front.
This is of coarse if you are comfortable with actually modding the case.
You did a great job however with cable routing.
Also Iam not sure if its just the picture but is your 9600 sagging? Accelero to much weight for it?
