Seasonic PSU's - Problem with Wake on Lan

Post by Riffer » Fri Jan 16, 2009 10:37 am

I have a media server that I have set up to Wake on Lan.

All other variables kept the same, the sytem will not wake on lan with either my SeaSonic M12II SS-430GM or SS-300ES. The sytem will wake up with a Seasonic Super Tornado 400 or PC Power & Cooling Silencer 400.

System is:

Asus A7N8X
AMD AthlonXP 2200+
Corsair TwinX2048-3200C2
ATI All in Wonder 9000 Pro
Promise FastTrak TX2300
Intel Pro/1000 T
Sony DRU-510A
2xSeagate ST3400620NS
Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2

Again, nothing changes but the PSU.

Is anyone else having the same problem?

I have an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe and used it in my HTPC with my Seasonic S12-330 for years, and I've never had a problem with WOL.

Yes, my older Seagate works as well.

I think I will put together a proper test system in the next little while and get to the bottom of this. In the meantime, I will have to exercise the legs a little and get up to press the on button :)
