I've been looking at http://www.akasa.com.tw/akasa_english/s ... _hd_bl.htm since my drives run a little hot in my case. They're in a Lian Li V2000B. But rather than in the standard racks (which have been removed to fit a radiator) they are in the 5 1/4 bays fitted with decoupling "heatsink" type things. I've put the heatsink in brackets since I don't really put a great deal of weight in the heat dissipation of these devices, but they do reduce the seek noise.
I don't like the colour of the Akasa cooler, but that's a minor thing. I notice it has a 4 pin pass through connect, which for SATA drives isn't ideal since it means running another molex up there.
Is anyone aware of alternatives to this Akasa product, black would be nice, but the main thing is some kind of alternative way of powering them.
Any comments I've read on the cooler suggest they're quiet, if they aren't I'd also like to find that out before I buy em
