Low Power 9600GT worth it?

They make noise, too.

Low Power 9600GT worth it?

Post by plympton » Mon Aug 31, 2009 9:22 am

Anyone know the ACTUAL power draw difference between the regular nVidia 9600GT and the new no-power-connector-needed Low Power 9600GT? I'm thinking about replacing my passive 3850 with one due to driver problems (er, Hackintosh :-))

I'll probably throw my Accelero on there from my 3850, so I'm not worried about the fan noise, but want something no more power sucking than the card its replacing, as I'm already idling too high.

Low Power:

I also wonder about the low power 9800 GT's as well. From what I can tell, there's two BFG and one PNY on Newegg.

And 2 Zotacs:

Hmm.. didn't even think about the possibility of a 9800GT. Not much difference in price these days.

Looking for lowest idle-power, since I rarely game these days (but want the option)
