Anyone tried these fans? They're $22 at http://www.newark.com/sanyo-denki/9s121 ... dp/96M1769. Sanyo's specs tend to be accurate, moreso than say Thermaltake (LOL). Therefore if these are remotely accurate (and I have no reason to believe they're not considering Sanyo's track record) they are better than pretty much every fan here including the Nexus and Slip Stream.
The link doesn't work (for me anyway?).
Google did work however:

They sound great. Sanyo Denki fans are great quality fans, although usually they come in high speeds.

9G1212M402 is their 1950 rpm fan, and comparing the stats against a Scythe GT:
SanAce / GT
RPM 1950 / 1850
Air Flow 1.66 / 1.65
Noise 29 db / 28 db
The fan you have listed compared with a GT
SanAce / GT
RPM 1500 / 1450
Air Flow 1.36 / 1.41
Noise 17 db / 21 db
They seem pretty similar stats (and both NMB and San Ace tend to publish believable figures).
I'd think you can't go wrong. These guys make very high quality fans... just a pity they aren't more easily available! Please try and report

I actually stumbled into this SPCR thread after noticing how well the Sanyo Denki fan scored in the Anandtech thread, and did a google search for it, bringing me here.
Relevant stats from that benchmark:
Sanyo Denki 9S1212L401: 19.5dB & 55.5°
Nexus Real Silent: 20dB & 59°

His testing methodology is pretty unreliable. He is using a cheap SPL meter at TEN cm... this is way too close (wait, why I am saying this, this is SPCR, I'm sure everyone knows this already ). Oh and his ambient temps are changing (16-19c), which can also change the results.
To be fair, doing this stuff well is bloody hard!
Anyway, his numbers suggest that the GT and SA are roughly equivalent, which matches the specs (ie 1450 = 20 db and 56c).
I think the SA fans would be great, but I don't think they will be hugely better than more readily available fans like the GT or even Yate Loons/Nexus.
