Nexus Value 430 Hissing When Turning Rear Switch-Normal?

Post by ssmith2k3 » Wed Jun 02, 2010 4:19 am

Hi,

I just bought and installed a Nexus Value 430 PSU for a new build. When I flip the switch in the back that activates the PSU (-/0) there is a hissing noise until I turn on the pc. It sounds like air leaking from a tire but soft and crackly at the same time. The noise goes away (or at least I don't hear it) once the PC is turned on.

Needless to say, I am a little bit worried for the rest of my (new) components. Am I over-reacting? Is this typical behavior? Thanks for your help.

Mine does not do that. I'd RMA it.
