Hi, just popping by to post up my new desktop!
Specs are
Intel Core i5 661 with a Thermalright HR-02
8gb Kingston KVR DDR3 1333
Gigabyte GA-H57-USB3 Motherboard
Sapphire Radeon 4850 with a Accelero S1 Rev2
Asus Xonar Essence STX
1 Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1tb and one Barracuda LP 1.5tb
Lite-On IHES208-31 DVD+/-RW and BR reader
Enermax Modu82+ 425W
1x Noctua S12 fan intake, set to 5V and the 200mm top fan is set to low
I've taped up all non-filtered holes with aluminium foil duct tape so it won't suck in dust and to direct the airflow a little.
The top fan has a nice low hum to it on the lowest setting and i can hear the main drive work, but it's not distracting as the computer sits beside my desk.
New build; reasonably quiet i5

Love passively cooled rigs! And that Thermalright is a Godsend.
Are you still using the stock Tricool on the rear? Is the 4850 stable at high loads? I remember having troubles with the VRM temperatures on many games that led to blue screens.

I took out the rear fan and taped the hole shut. With the 200mm top fan it really isn't necessary in my setup. The 4850 is rock solid so far, haven't had time to play much but i did test CoD4 for about a hour last night. Default clocks on everything.Parappaman wrote:Love passively cooled rigs!
