WD Caviar Green 1,0 EARS. Same acoustics as bigger models?

Post by kuzzia » Fri Feb 11, 2011 1:04 am

Hi, my current WD Green 500 GB is by far the loudest component in my current build.

By now, only WD Greens ABOVE 1,5 TB has been reviewed with a measured noise of about 12-14 dBA. In my country, the WD CAVIAR GREEN EARS 1,0 TB is very reasonably priced.
Does anyone have any experiences with that drive? Does it have same the acoustics as it bigger brothers reviewed here at SPCR:

Vibration doesn't mean anything as I am going to suspend the harddrive.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Kind regards.

I have the 1TB and the 2TB version of the EARS. I think they're both very quiet.
