Silencing LCD coil whine w. hot glue, need advice

Post by markanini » Wed Nov 23, 2011 7:17 am

I'm bothered by coil whine coming from my HP LP2065, it occurs when the screen is displaying opaque shades such as the gmail inbox. I've found a picture of the power supply board and I think I'm seeing some components worth going at with a glue gun. I don't recognize the chip like components to the right. Lastly should I bother with the large yellow transformers? Obviously I don't want to cover components that might require some airflow.
