Give One, Get One: Extended to Dec 31

"The mission of One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) is to empower the children of developing countries to learn by providing one connected laptop to every school-age child. To accomplish our goal, we need people who believe in what we’re doing and want to help make education for the world’s children a priority, not a privilege. Between Nov 12 and Nov 26, in the U.S. and Canada, you can donate the revolutionary XO laptop to a child in a developing nation, and also receive one for the child in your life. in recognition of your contribution"

They take credit cards and Paypal. You get a $200 tax credit and an XO laptop, which basically means you get the XO at half the price of the Asus Eee PC. T-Mobile USA also contributes one-year complimentary access to T-Mobile HotSpot in recognition of your support to the OLPC "Give One Get One" program. (The screen resolution of the OLPC is 1200x900, which might help it overcome my personal quibbles about the Asus Eee PC's 800x480 screen.)

FLASH, Nov 22: The Give One, Get One program has been extended to Dec 31/07. To date, donations to the GOGO program have averaged US$2 million per day, which translates to 5,000 donations were made per day, or into 5,000 "donated" machines and 5,000 "received" machines for a total of ~100,000 laptops so far in the past 10 days.

You now have until Dec 31, 2007 to make your donation and receive your gift.
