Favored for their value, AMD Ryzen 5 SKUs tend to offer gamers a more affordable bit of performance. Ryzen 5 has slowly but surely made its way into a lot of budget-focused PCs and is a go-to for gamers who want to spend the majority of their budget on the graphics card. The 7000-series Ryzen 5 doesn’t feel like it had a fair fight, with the 5600X offering a far more affordable solution. If the next-gen Ryzen 5 9600X can build on the current gen and stay at a similar price, it may finally be time for gamers to jump into AM5.
AMD Ryzen 9000 series is yet to be confirmed and it is even unknown at this stage if the new processors will even be Zen 5. It is likely though and with AMD holding the opening keynote for Computex 2024, many speculate a H2 launch.

If the naming conventions are correct and Zen 5 is indeed Ryzen 9000 – the rumor mill suggests a release in the second half of 2024. Speculation around an imminent release only grew with recent screenshots showing chipset drivers that support “next-gen AMD processors”.
